from a Wackernheim area Orphanage.

40th Artillery Group enlisted men volunteered to "adopt" a child for the day.

Battery A and 580th Engineer Company people were driven from Bad Kreuznach to Wackerheim for the occasion.

The children were treated to cake, ice cream, and milk. They also received gifts from Santa Claus.

The children in the middle are singing German Christmas Carols.

The young man in the dark suit was an official from the orphanage.
